Rotherham United star Semi Ajayi was delighted with his Nigeria’s debut in yesterday’s 3-0 victory over Seychelles in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, reports Futbalgalore.com.
Ajayi, 24, came off the bench for injured Chidozie Awaziem in the second half at the Stade Linite on Saturday.
“It was an honour to be called up by my country. We deserved to win the game having played very well.”
“It was positive. I tried to do what the Coach told me, which is to do my best, and I hope this will be a starting point,” said versatile player to Futbalgalore.com.
“I tried to follow my orders and it all becomes easier when playing alongside these talented players.
“I always try to be myself, nothing more and nothing less. I work every day and did the same in the Super Eagles. I’ve been getting compliments, so I must’ve done something right.”
