Reigning Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Lobi Stars have confirmed that their defender Ebube Duru has received a call-up for Nigeria’s senior national team.
Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr included the left back in the 18-man squad to face Liberia in an international friendly at the at the 35,000–capacity Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Now the Pride of Benue have confirmed that youngster has received the ultimate dream for any player, a call-up to the senior national team.
The club commented via Twitter, “#WeAreLobi celebrates full back, #EbubeDuru, who gets another @NGSuperEagles call up to face #Lberia in a friendly after his five-star outing against @atletienglish. Congrats boy! #PrideOfBenue.”
Duru was in action for the Super Eagles B team in a 3-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in a friendly match in May but had yet to receive a call up to the main team.
That is all about to change for the defender
His fine season in the 2018 NPFL season hasn’t gone unnoticed.
