Enyimba FC midfielder Effiom Maxwell is delighted over his inclusion in Nigeria’s 21-man squad for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The youngster was involved throughout the qualifiers for the Flying Eagles in the race for the Cadet World Cup.
Now the midfielder who plays in the Nigerian top tier says he is happy to get the chance to impress for the Flying Eagles.
“First of all I must say a big very Thank You to Nigerians. I’m very happy to been included in the final squad to Poland 2019,” Effiom Maxwell said.
“It wasn’t really easy. From last year, we have been pushing it. It wasn’t an easy task. All glory to God. I’m very happy to have made the final squad.
The soft spoken lad also talked about the targets of the Flying Eagles in Poland.
“As a team we are expecting a very good outing. We are here to make Nigeria proud and to prove to them that we worked hard to make sure that the team perform well,” he added.
The Flying Eagles play Qatar, the United States of America and Ukraine in that order at the championship in Poland, with their first game against Qatar in Tychy on 24th May.
