The Flying Eagles annihilated Maroons by four unanswered goals to maintain their unbeaten streak against an Asian side in U20 games.
Promising striker Chinonso Emeka was benched throughout the game on Friday.
“The team played very well. I was happy even though I was on the bench. The game went well. I’m very happy,” the lanky forward said.
“I want to thank the coach for this victory. I pray that as the tournament goes on we will play better.
The 17-year-old goal machine commented on the bond in camp and reiterated the team’s desire to go far in the competition.
“Togetherness and love shows that we can do it. The team spirit is very high and I belief we can go far in this tournament.
