When a forward scores on his debut in a new environment, it gives him joy. For Taofik Jibril, his own case isn’t different following the kickoff of Campeonato de Portugal Prio on Sunday.
Valadares Gaia winger Taofik Jibril admitted he was delighted to score on his Campeonato de Portugal Prio debut for the club, Futbalgalore.com reports.
He scored for new club Valadares Gaia in their 3-0 win against Ginásio Clube Figueirense at the Complexo Desportivo de Valadares.
The on loan Portimonense lad opened the scoring in the 25th minute.
“It does not get any better than that. It was my third touch, it was a case of right place right time. To get my debut goal, I am delighted,” Taofik Jibril told Futbalgalore.com.
“I am happy for the lads they put in a great effort before I came on. They defended superbly from back to front. Our back four were superb. Our aim is a top place finish and hopefully the run will continue.
“We hope it’s going to continue like we did against Ginásio Clube Figueirense and I’ll also try my best to score more goals for the club in the league. I don’t have any ambitions to win the topscorer award,” he added.
Valadares Gaia travel to the Estádio de São Miguel to face Gondomar in their next game on Sunday August 25.
