Promising striker Wisdom Ubani is optimistic of Nigeria’s chances at the 2020 WAFU B U20 Cup of Nations in Benin Republic.
Nigeria are in a very tricky group made up of Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire in the 15-day tournament.
Despite the pressure attached to playing such games, highly rated striker Wisdom Ubani is confident of the Flying Eagles’ chances.
“With the preparation and everything we are 100 % ready for tournament,” Wisdom Ubani told Futbalgalore.com.ng.
“We are looking forward to making our country proud.”
The Giant Brillers’ forward was the star player for Nigeria at the last CAF U17 of Nations but failed to replicate the form at the World Cup due to fitness issues. He says there is no pressure to perform in Port Novo.
“As a striker, there is no pressure to perform. With God all things are possible, even with the help of God one needs to work hard achieve greatness,” he mused.
“It’s not about me but the team qualifying for the U20 Afcon.”
“My coach always say, you can’t succeed under one person. It’s a process. It is a step from one coach to another. One needs to adapt to any coach.”
The striker concluded: “We are very prepared with what coach Ladan Bosso has been teaching us since we got to camp. We are ready for the tournament.”
Ladan Bosso’s boys start their campaign against Cote d’Ivoire on 6 December at the Stade de Galles in Porto Novo, Benin Republic.
