Abdullahi Biffo praised his Kwara United team as they beat a difficult Plateau United side in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week one on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Jide Fatokun and Michael Ohanu handed the Ilorin based club the points at Jos International Stadium, and coach Biffo claimed that his boys were superb from front to back.
“My team played a great game,” he told Futbalgalore.com.ng. “The pace of our play was fantastic.
“I was especially pleased with our defensive work, and that started with the forwards.
“Everyone in the squad wants to play and get in the starting XI, and that competition for places is fuelling us.
“It was a good one for the boys. Not just because we got three points but it was against a difficult Plateau United team in Jos. It is a plus for us.”
“Nevertheless, it is a Marathon race. We need to go back home and prepare ahead. There are still 37 more games. We have one of the youngest squads in the league.
“We still need to correct some lapses and forge ahead in the current season. We are not perfect but want to keep improving as games goes on,” he concluded.
