Super Eagles Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has been named in the Kaizer Chiefs starting XI for the CAF Champions League game against Primeiro de Agosto on Tuesday.

Chiefs were held to a goalless draw in the first-leg on the 23rd of December 2020 after missing a host of chances but managed to keep a cleansheet, which could work in their favour should they get away goals.

Amakhosi have not reached the group stages before, as the last time they were at this stage of the competition was in 2016, where they were knocked out 1-0 on aggregate by Ivorian side Asec Mimosas.

The Soweto giants have announced that star striker Samir Nurkovic has travelled with the team to Angola but goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and Willard Katsande were missing from their 18-man squad.

Primeiro, on the other hand will be under pressure to win the game outright, as any score draw will see Chiefs progress on away goals’ rule.

The 2020/21 Girabola season started on the 26th of December 2020 and Primeiro got off to a winning start after edging Interclube 1-0 three days later, their only league match played so far.

The winner of this tie will qualify for the group stages while the loser will drop down to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage play-offs.

Here’s how they line up:

Chiefs: Akpeyi, Mphahlele, Mathoho, Zulu, Ngezana, Matsheke, Blom, Parker, Castro, Kambole, Billiat

Subs: Bvuma, Cardoso, Moleko, Ngcobo, Mashiane, Zuma, Nurković
