Futbalgalore.com.ng compiled a round-up of the Nigerian players that were on target in English Football on Saturday, January 9.

It started off at Goodison Park in Merseyside, where Rotherdam United were hosted by Everton in the FA Cup. The visitors fell 2-1 but their goal was scored by Matthew Olosunde.

The Nigeria born player scored in the 56th minute of action.

At Bloomfield Road, West Bromwich Albion crashed out of the FA Cup after losing 3-2 on penalties to Sky Bet League One side Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

The hosts took the lead just before the interval thanks to Jerry Yates’ low finish, but the Baggies equalised shortly into the second half thanks to Semi Ajayi’s header.

Still, in the FA Cup, it was a moment of dispair for Middlesbrough as they lost 2-1 to Brentford at Brentford Community Stadium. Samuel Folarin was on target for Boro.

In National League, David Ajiboye and Isaac Olaofe got on the scoresheet as Sutton United were held 2-2 by Altrincham at Moss Lane.

Braintree Town beat Dartford 2-1 at Ironmongery Direct Stadium. Taofiq Olomowewe was on target for Braintree.
