With Nigerian footballers grabbing headlines for their clubs all over the world, Ademetan Abayomi selects the Team of the Week.
The formation is 3-4-3, with Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Semi Ajayi and William Troost-Ekong selected.
Also included are Terem Moffi, Ndifreke Effiong and Babajide David.
Adeleye Adebayo – Hapoel Jerusalem
The former Golden Eaglets shot stopper was unbeatable between the sticks as Hapoel Jerusalem pipped Hapoel Petah Tikva. The lad deserves a call up to the Super Eagles squad.
William Troost-Ekong – Watford
Manchester United won against Watford in the FA Cup, but defender William Troost-Ekong made his mark and was confident in office.
Leon Balogun – Rangers
Like the General, Leon Balogun commanded his troupes as Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-1 in the Scottish Premiership.
Semi Ajayi – West Bromwich Albion
West Bromwich Albion crashed out of the FA Cup after losing 3-2 on penalties to Sky Bet League One side Blackpool at Bloomfield Road. Semi Ajayi scored during normal regulation for the Baggies.
Ola Aina – Fulham
Ola Aina edges Tyrone Ebuehi to the right wing back position on the back of his superlative display against QPR.
Zaidu Sanusi – FC Porto
The flying left footer did a fantastic job for Porto in their 4-1 demolition of Famalico in the Portuguese top tier.
Wilfred Ndidi – Leicester City
Despite coming against John Obi Mikel in the FA Cup match between Leicester City and Stoke City, Wilfred Ndidi embraced and excelled for the Foxes as they ran riot.
Joe Aribo – Rangers
Aribo proved that he is the heart and soul of Rangers with a quality display for the Gers at Aberdeen.
Ndifreke Effiong – Akwa United
Always the go-to man for Akwa United. Ndifreke showed why the club rates him with a brilliant brace against Abia Warriors. He is the only Nigeria Professional Football League player in the Team of the Week.
Terem Moffi – Lorient
Terem Moffi was the most influencial man for Lorient in their loss to Bordeaux. His hardwork was rewarded with a goal.
Babajide David – Hatayspor
In a four-goal thriller between Hatayspor and Besiktas, Babajide David was menacing at the flank for the hosts who had a share of the spoils. He provided an assist.
