After another thrilling midweek of superb shots and stunning saves, picks the best XI from the latest round of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) action.

Victor Philemon [Adamawa United]

The goalkeeper was superb, especially in stopping Reuben Nicodemus’ penalty. Also made a show-stopping finger-tip save from an Adamu Hasan’s blockbuster. Brilliant.

Wisdom Jumbo [Warri Wolves]

The full back made two decisive tackles and kept his opposite numbers both in defence and midfield under control throughout. He also assisted in the third goal which allowed Uche Ihuarulam to score. Constant.

Christopher Nwaeze [Kwara United]

The central defender stole in and scored the opener and continued to be dominant in the air throughout. He has settled in well and wasn’t at fault for the own goal. Concomitant.

Papa Idris [Jigawa Golden Stars]

Always sure-footed and comfortable in possession, his intelligent forward runs inspired several attacks, while he also made several crucial tackles. Defiant.

Benjamin Francis [Heartland]

A powerhouse at the back and kept Enyimba’s right flank from causing any real trouble, while also causing problems himself several times. Dominant.

Chinedu Udeagha [Wikki Tourists]

The ex Rangers midfielder showed why he is a firm fan favourite with a dynamic display capped when he scored the winner. His beautiful free kick sailed into the top right corner from outside the box. Exuberant.

Dogara Peter [Jigawa Golden Stars]

An integral piece of Jigawa Golden Stars new system as he played just behind the striker. Always looking for the ball, he spread the play perfectly with accurate passes. Significant.

Akanni Elijah [MFM FC]

Contributed his quota with a cracking assist. Continued to rule the defence and also helped out in defence the few times he was needed in an all-round key performance. Important.

Thomas Zenke [Lobi Stars]

Did everything but score and was continually bringing teammates into play. Got the ball rolling for Lobi when seconds after setting up Ossy Martins to score, he was also involved in the second goal. Elegant.

Musa Lala [Jigawa Golden Stars]

Tormentor in chirf for Jigawa Golden Stars as they stunned Abia Warriors in Aba. Relevant.

Samuel Stone [Jigawa Golden Stars]

Never gave the forlorn Abia Warriors defence a moment’s respite, powering forward at every opportunity. He bagged a brace. Triumphant.
