Coach Kabiru Dogo has praised his Lobi Stars side after they defeated Dakkada FC 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Samuel Mathias and Austin Ogunye gave Lobi Stars the three points at the Aper Aku Stadium, to move to third in the Nigeria Professional Football League table.

“It was a tough game,” he told shortly after the entertaining fixture in Makurdi. “The important thing is that we got the three points.

“We looked to be in danger at times, so it was an important three points.”

“We were in control and the only chance they had was scored. Winning this game meant a lot to us.

“But, we have to face the subsequent games with the same intensity. We must continue working hard.

“It’s hard to play against opponents that close up the space, each time we are tested more so, but we have a way forward to maintain.”

“Despite conceding the equaliser we believed in ourselves and continued to attack them. I think the boys showed determination and resilience to pick the three points.

“I want to thank all the players. They put in some tremendous work. For a lot of the time we were superior to them.
