Kano Pillars forward Nyima Nwagua has been looking to Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League tie against Rivers United.

Pillars have made a good start to the campaign, picking up two wins, two draws and one defeat from the opening five games of the season.

Today, Masu Gida face a game against Rivers United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

It’s a potential banana skin for Pillars, but forward Nwagua says he is used to these kind of fixtures, and whilst he appreciates that the game will be difficult, he says there is no excuse for Pillars not to win.

“I played a lot of those games and it was always very difficult,” he told the Futblagalore.com.ng.

“It will be a very difficult game because we know they will be very determined. We have to play as a big team with lots of determination of our own,” he added.

“We also have to concentrate very hard because if you don’t do that you will lose the game. It’s as simple as that. Rivers United are very hungry and they want to make an impact against us. It will be very difficult but we have to win.”
