Kano Pillars face Rivers United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week six on Wednesday.

The Kano side go into the game as the underdogs, but they will be looking to make it their third home win of the season.

Rivers United are riding high and have won four of their first five games this term.

We take a look at three players who Pillars will have to watch out for if they are to avoid being defeated.

  1. Ifeanyi Anaemena

The centre-back has been one of their star performers over the start of the campaign.

The former Giwa FC man is a commanding centre-back, he has also been a goal threat this campaign.

  1. Cletus Emotan

A midfield playmaker, who is capable with the ball at his feet, Cletus Emotan is one of the most key players in this Rivers United side.

Eguma’s men always attempt to retain possession and their style is particularly demanding.

To do this Emotan is vital, as his intelligence in midfield allows the team to dominant the centre of the pitch when he plays to his best.

He has a bright future in the game and he will be looking to impress at the top-level today.

  1. Godwin Aguda

Another of Rivers United’s crop of exciting players, Godwin Aguda is arguably the side’s most potent attacking threat when on his game.

A box of tricks, Aguda has the skill to cause problems to any defence in the country but his inconsistencies mean he can be a source of much frustration.

He should be handed a start today by Eguma and if he is then he is likely to be the outlet that the side use the most.
