Delta Force Football Club of Asaba joins well meaning Nigerians and Deltans in commiserating with the Delta State governor His Excellency Ifeanyi Okowa and the Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission Tonobok Okowa on the demise of their father, Chief Arthur Uzoma Okowa.
According to Chairman of Delta Force Football Club, Chidi Okonkwo who described the late Patriarch as a loving and caring person while he was alive and prayed God to give him a happy repose.
“This is not a good time for the number one family of the state. I felt so sad when I heard the news. My and the club’s prayers go to the entire Okowa family on the loss of their patriarch. Pa Arthur was a good man who instilled the habit of working hard and kindness in his children. He will be greatly missed as I pray for his happy repose while equally asking God for the fortitude on Okowa family to bear this irreparable loss”, Mr Okonkwo concluded.
Coach of the team Augustine Chinwendu said the team was heartbroken when the chairman of the club broke the news to them. He instructed his boys to have a minute silence in their training session to honor late Pa Uzoma Okowa.
“It was a very sad moment when they Chairman broke the news to us. Loosing a father figure is a very big loss. And to honor him, I instructed the boys to observe a minute silence. We pray the good Lord to accept his soul in His kingdom. Amen!”
Late Pa Arthur Okowa died on Wednesday 27th of January at the age of 89 after a brief illness and burial arrangements will be announced shortly. May he rest in peace, Amen.
