Nigerian winger Bright Osayi-Samuel made his Fenerbahçe first start on Tuesday as the team emerged 2-1 winner over Hatayspor in the Süper Lig.
Osayi-Samuel started the game and came off in the 67th minute.
In a tweet after the match, the winger said: “Great win today, happy to get my first start for @Fenerbahce 💙💛.”
On 15 January 2021, Osayi-Samuel signed a pre-contract agreement to join Turkish side Fenerbahçe on a four-year deal beginning in July 2021. In a turn of events, he joined the club on 23 January in an immediate transfer.
In the game, Fenerbahçe took the lead in the 26th minute with Jean-Claude Billong scoring an own goal to hand their opponents a two-goal advantage. Aaron Boupendza’s beautiful half volley goal into the top right corner in the 90th minute came only as a consolation for Hatayspor.
The win saw Fenerbahçe remain at the top of the Süper Lig, four points clear of Beşiktaş who has one game in hand.
