Head Coach of Kogi United, Tunde Abdulrahman, has revealed that the target of the club this season is to gain promotion to the nation’s top footbal league, the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Coach Tunde Abdulrahaman stated this in an interview with the club’s media on Tuesday.
The experienced coach who has managed a handful of clubs in the Nigerian football circle said with the right support, attitude, adequate preparation, funding and determination, promotion to the elite league is achievable.
“I have created records with many clubs in Nigeria, promoting about 6 of these clubs from the second tier league to the NPFL while also taking 2 to the FA cup finals in the past. With proper support, adequate funding, determination, resilience and the right frame of mind on the part of my players, we will pick one of the promotion tickets to the elite league.
Coach Abdulrahaman said the club is blessed with experienced crop of players who are rearing to go and give their best for the task at hand which is playing in the NPFL.
He further promised football lovers in the Confluence state that as the Nigeria National League kicks off, they will see a rejuvenated and result oriented Kogi United.
Kogi United will open their 2020/2021 Nigeria National League account away to DMD of Maiduguri next week.
