It was a classic Fatai Osho performance from the first whistle as Enyimba deservedly won 2-1 against Nasarawa United in Lafia.
Enyimba raced in front after sixteen minutes when Tosin Omoyele’s intended cross was turned home by Abubakar Abdullahi.
Four minutes later it was all square, thanks to Chinedu Ohanachom whose header beat goalkeeper John Noble.
The People’s Elephants had their noses in front again thanks to Cyril Olisema’s well struck spot kick after impressive Anayo Iwuala earned his team a penalty.
Nasarawa came out brightly in the second half but their efforts proved futile.
HERE ARE THE 3 TALKING POINTS.
ENYIMBA ARE TITLE CONTENDERS
It was another Osho masterclass as they took control of the game and sat on their lead for the entirety of the second half without facing any great danger from a toothless Nasarawa United side.
Iwuala and Orok Gabriel are undoubtedly making progress upfront, but crucially Enyimba are also looking defensively resilient which makes it hard not to consider them serious title contenders.
OLISEMA AND OLATUNJI COMBO
What a way for Cyril Olisema to prove himself! His first start of the season was crowned with a goal that his performance deserved. The former Akwa United star combined very well with Dare Olatunji to police Kattoh Haggai and Ikenna Offor at the middle of the park.
MAN OF THE MATCH – ANAYO IWUALA
The winger put in a brilliant shift to help his side deal with Nasarawa United throughout the game. He, like so many other Enyimba players this season, looked a completely different player to the one that crashed out of the CAF Champions League.
