Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has signed for Saudi club Al Shabab after his loan spell at Manchester United came to an end.

Ighalo’s loan at United came to an end last month with the Nigerian publishing an emotional goodbye that confirmed the loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua wasn’t to be extended. The 31-year-old joins Al Shabab for two and a half years.

Ighalo, who was said to have offers on the table from Premier League clubs, netted five goals for the Red Devils

Al Shabab is currently top of the Saudi Professional League, just past the halfway stage of the season.

Odion Ighalo also lists Julius Berger, Osun United, Udinese, Cesena, Lyn Oslo, Granada, Watford and Changchun Yatai as his former clubs.

They are looking to win their first league title since 2011-12, with Ighalo a welcome capture.
