Midfielder Ikenna Offor thinks his Nasarawa United side didn’t deserve to be beaten 2-0 by Rivers United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week nine.
The Pride of Rivers made it six wins from nine this season at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium thanks to goals from Malachi Ohawume and Nelson Esor.
“We showed a real grit and determination,” Ikenna Offor told Futbalgalore.com.ng. “We have played very well, especially in the second half.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to score – it’s very frustrating not to get at least a goal.
“It’s also disappointing that we didn’t make the most of our chances. We went for the win, but we were not very lucky.”
Nasarawa United will play Akwa United on February 14 and the midfielder is respectful of a side who have won their last three games.
“It is going to be harder than the Rivers United game…” he claimed. “It won’t be easy at all, so we need to be focused and we need to play well.”
