Winger who models his game around Neymar becomes first Brazilian to play for Kwara United

Winger Lucas Alves made history on Sunday 14th February, becoming the first Brazilian born player to feature for Kwara United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

It was a sweet experience for the forward as Kwara United walloped Dakkada FC 3-0 in Ilorin.

The player who models his game around PSG star Neymar Jr entered the game with only five minutes left to play.

He thrilled the home fans with his deft touches and movements. The winger didn’t score but gave coach Abdullahi Biffo selection headache ahead of future games.

Lucas Alves first warmed himself to Kwara United fans when he scored a beautiful curler against Manchester City in a pre season friendly.

Alves, the 24-year-old winger from USA’s Seahorses LA, was unveiled by Kwara United before the 2020/21 NPFL season got underway.

Do you think Lucas Alves can help Kwara United win the NPFL title?
