The Chairman, Management and players of Delta Force Football club joins well meaning Nigerians in felicitating with Okonjo Royal family in Ogwasi-Uku over the appointment of their daughter, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the Director General of World Trade Organization.
The Chairman of Delta Force FC, Mr Chidi Okonkwo, poured encomiums on Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala describing her as the standard with which to measure hardwork.
“It’s not everyday we wake up to the cheering news of a Nigerian heading a top world organization. It’s even more glamorous when it’s the first time an African and a woman is topping a big organization like the World Trade Organization. In football we call that win win situation”
The astute football administrator went on to commend the Okonjo royal family in Ogwasi-Uku for another feather added to their cap.
“Her appointment as the Director General of World Trade Organization is a big news to all Nigerians and Africa at large but more soothing for the Royal family here in Ogwasi-Uku who so far has been supporting our team, endorsing and giving us royal blessings to use the J J Okocha Stadium as our home pitch this season. Infact their support was even more emphasised when we had in attendance last Saturday the Prince who left his busy schedule to watch our match. So on behalf of the club, I say big congratulations to the royal family of Ogwasi-Uku on this big achievement”
So far this season, the Okowa boys have been using the J J Okocha Stadium in Ogwasi-Uku as their home ground. And in their first match of the season last Saturday against Vandrezzer FC of Lagos, in attendance was a member of the royal family Prince Onyema Okonjo who is the younger brother of Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
