League Management Company (LMC) boss Mallam Shehu Dikko praised the character showed by Enyimba and Rivers United in the aftermath of the entertaining 1-0 CAF Confederation Cup play off first leg game in Aba.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Second Vice President, the game was a good advert for Nigerian Football.
The People’s Elephants picked up a slim victory over Pride of Rivers with Cyril Olisema scoring from Anayo Iwuala’s well crafted assist.
Speaking in his post-game interview with popular reporter Abiola Shodiya, the LMC Supremo hailed the two teams for showing quality.
“It was a very fantastic match, even with the rainstorm at the beginning,” Dikko began.
“At the end it was the best for Nigerian Football. Some of the best players were available.”
“The match was a good advert for Nigerian Football and both teams. It was really brilliant,” he added.
Second leg will take place next Sunday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
