Kano Pillars striker Nyima Nwagua wants to ensure his team do not rest on their laurels as season moves into week 11.
Masu Gida return to action this weekend in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) when they meet Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium.
Pillars are currently sitting in third position on the standings, following an excellent run of form in the opening 10 matches of the season.
Nwagua is of course pleased with the start his team have made. While attribute this to hard work, he also cautions that the team cannot afford to relax, pointing out that every point earned is like gold:
“The last time I checked we were amongst the better scoring teams and defensively we were also amongst the better performing ones too.
“Now when you look at those statistics, they inspire you. They show the amount of work we have put in and we’ll go back now and keep working.
“It’s a long season. We have to go on working hard and fighting for every point if we want to achieve our targets for the season. Every point earned is like gold and we want same against Lobi Stars.”
