Lobi Stars striker Ossy Martins is determined to help the Pride of Benue to victory in their next Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game.
Stars take on Kano Pillars at the Aper Aku Stadium on Sunday in an NPFL week 11 encounter.
There can be no denying that on paper – on recent form this season, Pillars will be favourites against Stars.
But being desperate to find improved form, together with the big game factor thrown in, will make Stars a much tougher proposition.
Ossy is relishing the chance to play against Pillars, but cautions against taking Pillars lightly.
“Our aim of finishing high is still on and we want to make amends by beating Kano Pillars on Sunday,” Ossy Martins told Futbalgalore.com.ng.
“It is always difficult to play against a team that is in form, they will give their all because they know their position is good. That makes this game very difficult for us, but we will rise to the occasion come Sunday.
“The good news for me personally is that this is going to be a good game against Pillars and I really want to be part of it.
“I have heard a lot about how entertaining this match turns out and I personally feel that am ready for the game… I think I am mentally and physically prepared for the battle.”
