There was plenty to revel in for Plateau United fans in an excellent 3-0 win at Jos International Stadium on Wednesday.
Jigawa Golden Stars were dispatched easily in a game striker Ibrahim Mustapha bagged a brace. Oche Ochowechi also registered his name on the scoresheet.
Here is a look at four things we learned from an eventually comfortable win…
Mustapha gives United everything which has been missing
Plateau United clearly struggled to score during Mustapha’s loan stint in UAE. He delivered everything they could have wished for.
Yuga is a striker who offers goals, a subtle hint of aggression paired with a similarly subtle influence of brilliant movement. He netted a brace.
Cleansheet show defensive improvement
With three goals at the other end, United’s defence were keen to keep a cleansheet as the game petered out. They managed it having conceded in games against Warri Wolves, Enyimba and Akwa United.
It’s a credit to an improved defence. The full-backs are developing well.
Oche Ochowechi made it count
Oche Ochowechi hasn’t had quite the same impact in the last few weeks but his finish against Jigawa Golden Stars was emphatic. He also accounted for an assist.
He’s cool and calm. His ability allows him to do whatever is necessary and that’s what he did on Wednesday afternoon.
Moses Effiong continue to show improvement
Former Dakkada forward Moses Effiong made headlines with two assists in the big win.
On a number of occasions, he tracked back and constantly read the game well.
Effiong offers something different up front and has shown that alredy for the Peace Boys.
