Ahead of the CAF U17 Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria defeated Emy Football Academy in a friendly played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Friday.
Fatai Amao named a starting XI that included Joseph Arumala, Samuel Akere, Christian Nwachukwu and Ahmed Abdullahi.
Eaglets started on a frantic note and duly got the opener when Arumala scored to put his team ahead on seven minutes.
In the 13th minute, Akere delivered a sweet effort and it was 2-0. Three minutes later, Nwachukwu added his name to the scoresheet.
Eaglets scored a fourth through Abdullahi and Arumala added to the woes of the opposition with his second.
Before the break, Abdullahi found his scoring boot again as the first half ended 6-0.
The rout was completed when Stanley Iheanacho scored a well taken goal for Amao’s side.
Eaglets have been pitted against the young Algerian side in Group B, which also includes Tanzania and Congo at the AFCON.
The tournament runs from 13 March to 31 March 2021.
