Our Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) team of the week 13 is set up in a 3-4-3…..

Friday Achimugwu (GK) – In a game which may prompt introspection from Sunshine Stars, the Adamawa United goalkeeper ensured that his team left Akure with a clean sheet.

Akanni Elijah – MFM FC

Like a posse of bus drivers painstakingly manoeuvring their vehicles into the penalty box of Nasarawa United, the midfielder attacked the lines and scored his side’s crucial winning goal.

Denis Nya – Plateau United

Nya put up an assured performance in the draw at FC Ifeanyi Ubah and was reliable. He was motivated for the game.

Emmanuel Ogbuagu – Adamawa United

Not too long ago, a clean sheet for Adamawa United was bound to the realms of fanciful optimism. Yet, Emmanuel Ogbuagu presided over yet another shut out against Sunshine Stars, Adamawa United’s second on the spin.

Isaac Loute – Rangers

Isaac Loute was in another world with his display against Heartland. His thunderous strike was world class. The Benin Republic international also provided an assist for Godspower Anefiok from a corner kick.

Morice Chukwu – Akwa United

Anchoring Akwa United’s midfield didn’t involve too much defensive work against Rivers United, but Chukwu added a layer of authority and control to Kennedy Boboye’s side, along with a sweet free kick.

Godswill Nicholas – Akwa United

Always ready to hold the ball up and was integral to many of the Promise Keepers’ best moves. Determined aggressive and always willing to work for the team.

Godspower Anefiok – Rangers

Almost a clear head above everyone else and directed the play throughout with crisp, precise balls. His technique was there for all to see. He nodded home the second goal.

Stephen Jude – Kwara United

Certainly one of Kwara United’s best players so far, Stephen Jude curled home a sweet effort in the win over Warri Wolves.

Udo Kokoete – Dakkada FC

The winger was brilliant as Dakkada FC fought from two goals down to beat Kano Pillars 3-2. Udo was in charge of affairs, he wrecked the Pillars wall with a goal and assist.

Christian Ekong – Dakkada FC

Once more the striker led the way with his sheer raw persistence. Sewing panic in the home defence every time he got the ball he scored a well-deserved goal by being in the right place at the right time. His assist was classy.
