MFM FC beat Nasarawa United to boost continental hopes

MFM FC boosted their chances of playing in Africa next season with a 1-0 home win over Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week 13 on Monday afternoon.

The Olukoya Boys fresh from a 0-0 draw at Katsina United, put in an impressive display against the Solid Miners to boost their continental hopes.

Akanni Elijah gave the Lagos based side the opener after 52 minutes, and it proved the all-important strike.

Both teams struggled to keep hold of possession in the first half, even though MFM FC looked sharper.

The moment for the hosts came in the 52nd minute, as Elijah relished the moment with the strike.

Olalekan Gabriel’s side enjoyed good possession in the last half-an-hour, but could not add to Elijah goal as they picked a key win, their second in the last three games.

The three points helped them to 9th on the log with 17 points, while Nasarawa United are sixth with 20 points.
