Odion Ighalo has disclosed why he joined Al-Shabab after the expiration of his loan spell with Manchester United.
The Nigerian striker joined Manchester United on 31 January 2020, while he joined the Saudi Arabian club on 4 February 2021
During an interview with Sada Al Malaeb, Ighalo disclosed the reason he joined the Saudi Arabian League – after his loan spell with Manchester United expired.
“I joined Al-Shabab to give my best, make the difference, and help them win the league and delight the fans.
Despite being top of the league with five points, Ighalo believes the team need to keep working hard to achieve their objective at the end of the season.
“Al-Shabab is at the top of the standings, but the five-point difference does not mean anything, so we have to continue the good work and continue winning.”
Since joining the league, the Nigerian striker has scored three times, creating an assist in six games.
