There was no change at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with Kwara United picking a point at Wikki Tourists and Rangers holding Kano Pillars in Kaduna.
The battle for the continental spots is still on with Akwa United playing out a 0-0 at Warri Wolves, Plateau United winning 3-1 at home to MFM FC, and Nasarawa United earning a narrow 1-0 victory against Lobi Stars.
Sunshine Stars drew 0-0 with Katsina United, while Adamawa United stunned Dakkada FC 2-0.
Let us know your thoughts on the Team of the Week, which is deployed in the usual 4-3-3 formation!
Uche Okafor – Sunshine Stars
Made a plethora of excellent saves as the Owena Whales drew 0-0 at Katsina United. The former FC Ifeanyi Ubah shot stopper was impressive.
Uche Oguchi – Heartland
Nullified the threat of Abia Warriors and found the opportunities to make runs forward. He provided the assist for Pascal Eze’s goal and always looked for spaces to exploit.
Ernest Governor – Rangers
Capable of keeping the Pillars attackers at bay and scored Rangers’ goal with a header.
Samson Gbadebo – Akwa United
Ran tirelessly throughout the game and won all his aerial duels.
Konan Ruffin – Rivers United
Took control of his area and did it with confidence. Forced Jigawa Golden Stars backline into errors with his crosses and intelligent passing, one of them was an assist.
Isa Ndala – Plateau United
Inspired the Plateau United win against MFM FC. Scored with a sweet strike for Plateau United’s third goal.
Tony Shimaga – Rangers
An excellent link between midfield and attack. Provided a delightful assist for Ernest Governor.
Idris Abubakar – Adamawa United
Abubakar was the most lively Adamawa United player in the 2-0 win over Dakkada FC. He netted the curtain raiser.
Ali Mallam – Kano Pillars
Grabbed a fantastic free kick for Pillars in the draw with Rangers.
Godwin Obaje – Abia Warriors
The striker is now scoring goals for fun, and he found the back of the net twice against Heartland, taking his tally in NPFL to 4 so far this season.
Mohammed Zulkifilu – Plateau United
Scored two goals in the 3-1 win over MFM FC in Jos.
