Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi came close to scoring as Porto dumped out Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
The second leg ended 3-2 in favour of Juventus but the Italians fell short 4-4 on away goal rule.
Sanusi waa given another starting role in his team’s defence line by coach Sergio Conceicao, and the Nigerian international was able to impress as he made a lot of crosses and clearances in the game.
Sergio Oliveira put the visitors ahead via spot kick in the 19th minutes, and Federico Chiesa scored brace in the second half to make it 2-1, before Sergio Oliveira scored another goal to make it 2-2, while Adrien Rabiot scored to end the match 3-2 later on, as the Old Lady’s crashed out of the competition.
Zaidu Sanusi was outstanding for the Portuguese Primeira Liga side in the game, and he could have scored a goal in the first half, but his effort went wide, and he played a crucial role in his team’s qualification to the quarter final.
