Former Super Eagles defender Sam Sodje disclosed what Tai Sodje needs to do to get promoted to the Cityzens first-team.

Tai Sodje is currently with the U18, and he’s the highest goalscorer with seventeen goals in sixteen games.

Speaking to allnigeriasoccer.com, Sam Sodje believes the youngster is in the right system, and he needs to keep scoring goals to get a chance to play for Manchester City.

“He’s developing well – he’s a young lad, he’s just 17 playing for Manchester City U18s, so the system they play at that level is the same system they play in the first team.”

“As long as he keeps doing well, scoring goals, I’m sure his chance will come, but you know Manchester City is a big club – they’ve got a lot of good senior players. His chance will come soon.”

The former West Brom defender stated that Guardiola loves the system, and Tai Sodje is a top player, a typical English striker.

“He’s in the system that Guardiola likes playing. I have watched him play a couple of times, and he’s a top, top player – typical English striker.”

Also, he believes everyone at Manchester City rates him high, including Pep Guardiola, who is aware of his progress.

“He has gone to train with the first team couple of times, he’s doing so well now, and I’m sure Guardiola knows about his progress.

“Being the top goalscorer for the U18s and Manchester City, the whole football club not only Guardiola rates him high”.
