Experienced Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was brilliant for Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday.

The former Chippa United and Warri Wolves shot stopper kept a clean sheet for Amakhosi who drew 0-0 against Petro de Luanda at Estadio 11 de Novembro in the CAF Champions League.
Amakhosi came close to getting the opener in the 12th minute from a set-piece situation, with one of the Petro players almost conceding an own goal but shot-stopper Signori Antonio made a great save.

The hosts were putting Gavin Hunt’s charges under pressure after that but the Angolan outfit lacked the cutting edge in the final third.

Tiago Azulao came close to breaking the deadlock for Petro just before the break with an effort which was well taken by Akpeyi.

The second half was very cagey with both sides resorting to high tackles.

Kearyn Baccus and Jose-Junior Matuwila picked up bookings in the second stanza.

A key moment arrived for Petro Luanda early in the second half but Akpeyi was at alert to foil the hosts.

Kaizer Chiefs have now picked five points in four games so far in the CAF Champions League.
