Super Eagles striker Peter Olayinka will undergo a late fitness test ahead of the game against the Rangers in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
The Nigerian was replaced by Lukáš Masopust in the second half – because of the injury he sustained in the opening half. Before going off, Olayinka assisted the goal scored by Nico Stanic in the opening seventh minute.
Ahead of the second leg, Slavia Prague manager Jindrich Tripsovsky confirmed the Nigerian striker undergoes a late fitness test to ascertain if he is fit to play on Thursday night.
Olayinka resumed training on Tuesday, and the coach wants to check his fitness level before playing him at the Ibrox Stadium.
“We hope it will be good. He joined us for the training yesterday, and we will see him after the training today.
“It’s about his feeling if he stands the pain. We believe he will be prepared as he is an important player for us.
“We will decide tomorrow morning.”
In the Europa League, Olayinka has three goals and created two assists, and scored six goals, three assists in the league.
The first-leg between both sides ended 1-1 – with the Rangers continuing their impressive form this season.
