Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Maduka Okoye revealed he would discuss the interest from Ajax with Gernot Rohr when he gets to the national team.
About the interest from Ajax – Okoye, disclosed that he will discuss it with Gernot Rohr during the international break. Nigeria will face the Benin Republic and Lesotho.
The Eredivisie side are without a goalkeeper following a 12 months ban by UEFA to Andre Onana for breaching doping violations.
Although Ajax have not made a formal bid Okoye will discuss it with Gernot Rohr because of the relationship between them.
“I will be with the Nigerian national team and have a conversation with him (Rohr),” Okoye told Transfermarkt Netherlands.
“I have a close relationship with him. He gave me a big chance against Brazil when I was still the goalkeeper for Fortuna’s second team. I am very thankful towards him, and his opinion matters.”
Aside from Ajax, Okoye confirmed the interest from the English, Belgium, and Italian side.
He however stated that he would wait until the summer before making any decision on his future.
“The press found out about Ajax and is now a public topic but there are also big clubs from England interested and one great club from Italy as well as Belgium, both have talked to my agency already.
“But until the summer I will focus on playing, there is work to be done and goals to be achieved.
