Golden Eaglets coach Fatai Amoo lamented the failure of CAF to stage the 2021 AFCON U-17 tournament because of coronavirus.
Morocco was meant to host the tournament but withdrew few days to the commencement because of coronavirus. However, Zambia declares readiness to stage the competition but waiting for CAF.
Speaking to complete sport, Amoo revealed he is not pleased with the competition not taking place – because it is an avenue for them to crown their efforts of qualifying for the tournament.
“Very disposed to something you worked for and, it is time to see how the work will benefit in terms of going for the competition and, that is the only way one can be satisfied that you have done something.
“If that will happen, I think that it will be so good. The players, the coaches, and other stakeholders will be happy if that will materialize, but everything depends on CAF. It is on the table of CAF to decide.”
Nigeria qualified for the tournament after coming second in a group that includes Ivory Coast and Ghana.
