Sparta Rotterdam coach Henk Fraser disclosed what the departure of Maduka Okoye – will mean to the club.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper is a subject of interest from Ajax – who has their goalkeeper Andre Onana banned for twelve months.

Although Okoye has committed his future to Sparta Rotterdam, the coach believes his sale will help the team raise money to sign few players.

Henk Fraser believes his exit will raise a significant fee for Sparta Rotterdam because he has a long-term contract with the club.

He hopes the transfer takes place because it will enable the club to sign some players in the summer.

“I am happy for him. But for now, he is our goalkeeper. And the reality is that he has a long-term contract. That in-turn – guarantees that Sparta will receive a significant transfer fee. I hope so because it would mean that we could sign a few players.

The Nigerian goalkeeper has kept seven clean sheets and conceded twenty-eight goals in the league. He has not conceded a goal in his last two games against VVV Venlo and RKC Waalwijk.
