Former Golden Eaglets captain Kelechi Nwakali scored his maiden goal since moving to Spain from Arsenal. The young Nigerian midfielder joined SD Huesca from Arsenal – before being loaned to Alcorcon in the winter.
Nwakali had – a difficult time at Huesca (playing just five games) and teamed up with Alcorcon in January to get more playing time.
The Nigerian midfielder opened his goal account for the Segunda side in a 1-1 draw over Real Oviedo at the Estadio Santo Domingo. He scored with a shot from outside the box that finds the bottom corner.
He scored the goal to put the host ahead with just two minutes into the game, but Gustavo Blanco scrambled home an equalizer for the visitor six minutes to the end of the game.
Elsewhere, Sadiq Umar scored his fifteenth goal of the season as Almeria defeated Malaga by 3-0 at the Estadio La Rosaleda.
The Nigerian striker tapped into an empty net in the 77th minute to – give the host a comfortable 3-0 victory. Sadiq – was denied a penalty shortly after Lucas Robertone gave Almeria the lead.
Sadiq has contributed twenty goals (fifteen goals and five assists) in the league for Almeria this season.
