Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has won the English Premier League Player of the Month award for March.
One of Brendan Rodgers’ key men has been rewarded for his own form during a dominant month for the Foxes.
City registered seven points from their top-flight fixtures in March, with 8 goals being scored in three matches, and that impressive record was partly down to the contribution of Iheanacho.
The Nigerian international scored in all of the Foxes’ games. He started with a thunderous volley to equalize at Turf Moor and then added another equalizer against Brighton.
But it was in their final league game that he shone the brightest. Iheanacho scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United, who were without their boss.
In total, Iheanacho has now scored six goals and contributed in just 16 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Harry Kane, Andreas Christiansen, Illan Meslier, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard, Riyad Mahrez and Leandro Trossard were the other players shortlisted for the award.
