Nigeria has been excluded from the four countries selected worldwide to be part of a LaLiga global campaign ahead of this weekend’s El Clasico.
Despite the huge fan base and followership, organizers snubbed the most populous African nation.
Germany, Indonesia, Kenya and Uzbekistan in the special group, with a number of activities set to unfold ahead of Saturday’s match.
As part of the campaign, LaLiga travelled to Sekenani, on the outskirts of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, and installed a lounge and raised an El Clasico flag in the middle of a Maasai Boma, giving the locals the chance to be part of the larger campaign.
LaLiga further helped with basic food for 80 families in the Maasai community.
To further symbolise LaLiga’s global reach, it has installed 17 ElClásico flags in the most unpredictable places in order to surprise football-lovers in countries such as Egypt, Israel, Morocco, Angola, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Indonesia, Brazil, Bolivia, Turkey, Malaysia, Ecuador, Japan, Thailand, Denmark, the United States, and Canada.
