Goalkeeper Sebastian Osigwe kept a clean sheet as Lugano beat Lausanne 1-0 in the Swiss Super League on Saturday.
Osigwe was handed a starting role ahead of off-form Noam Baumann who had conceded 13 goals in the last 10 games.
His performance has convinced head coach Maurizio Jacobacci that he is more dependable than Baumann.
Lugano broke the deadlock thanks to Mijat Maric’s 18th minute strike at Stadio Cornaredo.
In the current season, Swiss-born Sebastian Osigwe has gone the distance in five league matches contested for Lugano.
