Enyimba FC is set for a return to Nigeria after their 3-0 painful loss to ES Setif in Algeria. The team could not return early to Nigeria because of difficulty finding a flight that would fly them out of Algeria.
The People’s Elephants travelled to Algeria through Doha as there was no direct flight to Algeria from Nigeria. The team’s flight was cancelled and they had to look for another aircraft to lift them out of Algeria.
It will be recalled that the team could not find a flight from Algiers to Setif and they had to go by road to Setif and it was a journey of 5 hours.
The team will play Ahli Benghazi of Libya next week. Although the time is short, they will have to return to Nigeria to secure Libyan visas and will hope to travel early for that important encounter in Benghazi.
A draw or a victory for the People’s Elephants in Benghazi would brighten their chances of a place in the quarterfinal after their game against Orlando Pirates in Aba. Enyimba are currently second in the group and they need 4 points from their last two games to be safe.
