It was a dark day for NIGERIAN football on 18th April 2011.

A patriot who served the nation with his might left the world. Sobs😭😭😭😭😭😭

He represented Nigeria at the U20, U23 and senior level.

The man in question won Silver Medal at the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup. He provided a beautiful assist as Nigeria lost 2-1 to Argentina.

Three years later, he was an integral member of the Nigerian team that placed second at Beijing Olympic Games.

His death was shocking news to the football world on April 18, 2011. Before his death, he had played for the Super Eagles in 5 matches.

Olufemi Olubayo died in a car accident while driving on Egnatia Odos, near the city of Kavala, Greece. He was on his way to Nigeria in order to finalise details of his wedding.

He also defended the colours of Bendel Insurance, Delta Force, Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hakoah Ramat Gan, Hapoel Bnei Lod, Rapid Bucureşti, SC Rheindorf Altach, Boulogne and Skoda Xanthi.
