Delta Queens began their Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Super 6 campaign on on a positive note as they edged Edo Queens 2-1 at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Monday.
It was a sweet derby victory for Delta Queens who earned bragging rights over their rivals.

Edo Queens recovered and just needed a stunning trademark free kick from former Adamawa Queens playmaker Nneka Julius, in order to be back level just eight minutes into the second half.

Comfort Folorunsho was the heroine for the Delta Queens team. She was on target through Mamuzo Edafe’s assist from the corner.
Reigning champions, Rivers Angels were held to a 1-1 draw by Robo Queens.
An 87th minute goal from Monday Gift cancelled out Vivian Ikechukwu’s opener.
Meanwhile, the match between Sunshine Queens and Bayelsa Queens ended 1-1.
Ex Flamingoes defender, Opeyemi Sunday fired Sunshine in front before Charity Reuben equalised for the Yenagoa based outfit.
