Alice Ogebe missed a spot kick as Rivers Angels’ derby with Delta Queens ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw in the NWFL Super 6 at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Monday.
The Jewel of Rivers were awarded a spot kick in the 74th minute but the forward saw her low effort saved by Ihuoma Onuegbu.
The result leave Rivers Angels in fourth place on two points.
In the first match of the day, Sunshine Queens beat Bayelsa Queens 2-1.
The breakthrough arrived in the 8th minute when Suliat Abideen got the better of goalkeeper Nkiruka Obindinma through a sweet free kick.
Elizabeth Zirike, who was an otherwise peripheral figure, brought Edo Queens level in the 20th minute with a carbon-copy of her usual recipe she cut inside a couple of challengers and planted an unstoppable 25 yards screamer beyond Elizabeth Johnson.
Before Edo Queens could settle down, another Tsunami hit them two minutes later. Sunday Abia restored the Owena Mermaids’ lead.
Bayelsa Queens were left stunned as first half strikes from Taiwo Lawal and Monday Gift saw FC Robo Queens win 2-0.
At the end of day 2, Robo Queens are on top with four (+2), Sunshine Queens second with four points (+1) and third placed Delta Queens four points (+1).
At fifth and sixth position are Bayelsa Queens (one point) and Edo Queens (nothing to show).
