“The sky is our stepping stone” – Falode on Super 6 kickoff

Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Chairperson, Aisha Falode, expressed her delight at the very bright opening day of the Super Six in Ijebu-Ode.

The presence of the NFF President and FIFA Council member, Amaju Pinnick, NFF board members, Edo state Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, Chairman Delta Sports Commission, NRA president, Otunba Tade Azeez, Super Falcons coach, Waldrum, Chief Solomon Ogba and all those that matters in Nigerian football, who showed their support for the women’s football league yesterday in Ijebu-Ode.

Delta Queens edged Edo Queens 2-1 in the opening match at Dipo Dina Stadium.

It was all square between Sunshine Queens and Bayelsa Queens in a pulsating fixture. 1-1 it ended.

Rivers Angels were forced to a 1-1 draw by FC Robo Queens.

It was a bright day for the NWFL, the club players, officials and indeed women’s football in Nigeria.

“The sky is our stepping stone,” Falode said.

Matches will continue at the Super 6 at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Tuesday.
