England has moved a step ahead of Nigeria in acquiring the service of Manchester City youngster Tai Sodje. The prolific striker is eligible to play for both countries.
Born in Sheffield, the youngster scored twenty-five goals created four assists in nineteen games for the Cityzens U-18s.
According to Allnigeriasoccer, England contacted the Nigerian youngster to play for their U-19s. The report, however, revealed that his focus is playing first-team football in the Premier League.
“Tai was contacted by England last month – the U19s. He has not yet chosen the country to represent.
“His main focus now is to play first-team football, be it at Manchester City or any other Premier League club.”
Sodje – is the nephew of former Super Eagles defender Sam Sodje is a fan of the Super Eagles and follows Josh Maja on social media.
He is a versatile striker and can play across all positions in the front-line and has drawn comparisons with Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his similar playing style.
