Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru was dropped in Galatasaray’s 1-1 draw against Trabzonspor at the Turk Telecom Arena on Wednesday night.

The draw placed Galatasaray third on the log, six points ahead of Trabzonspor and three points behind Fenerbache after playing thirty-four games.

According to the club, the Nigerian striker did not play a part in the game because of injury. The club confirmed that Henry Onyekuru suffered a muscle injury.

“Henry Onyekuru was removed from the Trabzonspor match squad due to the pain in the upper right back muscle,” Galatasaray said in a statement.

Although Onyekuru did not play the duo of Oghenekaro Etebo and Valentine Ozornwafor are among the substitute while Anthony Nwakaeme starts for Trabzonspor.

Onyekuru has scored five league goals in twelve games since joining on loan from Monaco.
