Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has disclosed why Terem Moffi might not be making the Super Eagles list for the World Cup qualifier matches against Liberia and Cape Verde.
Speaking to Ouest France, Rohr stated the reason Terem Moffi could not honour the previous call-up. According to him, the NFF did not have the financial ability to return the players to France on a private plane.
The former Bayern Munich defender revealed that Terem Moffi – can make his list, but the quality of striker available at his disposal will hinder his chances.
“I had already put him on a reserve list at the last get-together (end of March) and then wanted to take him, but he could n0t come due to travel restrictions for players in France.
“We could accommodate the players, but the Nigerian Federation had to take care of bringing the players back by private plane.
“We could not afford to pay € 100,000 for this flight. I did not see myself asking my Federation for so much money.
“But from then on, he can be in my selection, of course. The problem is that I have a lot of top attackers: Osimhen, Iheanacho, Nwankwo, with Crotone in Italy, who is at 19 goals, Onuachu, and I cannot invite five attackers. It is not easy to find a place.
